What is Friedreich's Ataxia

Friedreich’s Ataxia is a rare but severe neuromuscular disease that results in the degeneration of an individual’s nerve and muscle tissue. It was first described in 1863 by Nikolaus Friedreich, a german physician. It is characterized by problems with balance, coordination and commonly slurring of speech.
